A place for crocheters and knitters
You know who you are.
You have a stash of yarn that will keep you busily knitting and crocheting for months, but you nevertheless purchase more beautiful yarn because it's beautiful.
Upon learning a friend or family member is pregnant, you mentally flip through tried and true baby blanket patterns and those not yet tried.
As summer temperatures soar, you are working on holiday decorations and gifts. During cold months, you're warmed by a new project (and perhaps a pet or loved one by your side.)
Or maybe you enjoy the tactile feel of yarn and the relaxing repetitive motions of knitting and crocheting as an escape to your own island oasis of calm and tranquility away from overflowing inboxes and Slack pings.
And while we may share a love for yarn and craft, we are each unique -- just like the multitude of yarns and patterns. How dull life would be if only one yarn and one pattern existed. Thankfully, that's not the case.
As much as I would like to say "everyone is welcome here," that's not entirely true. If being offended by a pattern's presence or the lack of a public stance on a topic offends you, then this site is not for you. While I've participated in craftivism, I'm personally looking for a place to appreciate and enjoy knitting and crochet without politics. What that means and looks like -- and how this is articulated in site policies -- will evolve with time and likely involve a few mistakes along the way.
What you see here is only a sliver of what I hope will exist in the weeks and months ahead. For the longest time, I've been disappointed by the available options for finding and queuing projects. This is my attempt to solve that problem.
